Research Interests: Dr. Baer is investigating the movement of materials across the walls of the coronary capillaries, a process essential to the prevention of life-threatening myocardial ischemia. His work is focused on the mechanisms by which this process can be optimized when challenged by insults such as decreased perfusion pressure or low arterial oxygen tensions.
